Nawroz University Participates in the Evaluation and Development Ceremony of Scientific Journals in the Kurdistan Region

On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., a delegation from Nawroz University, headed by Prof. Dr. Hoger Taher Tawfiq, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Student Affairs, participated in a special ceremony organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to evaluate and develop scientific journals published by universities across the Kurdistan Region. The delegation also included Mr. Abdulaziz Younis, Supervisor of the University Journal.

The event was attended by Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, along with presidents of public and private universities, advisors, directors general, vice presidents, researchers, and faculty members.

In his remarks, the Minister expressed his appreciation and support for the academic journals of Kurdistan’s universities, commending their efforts to achieve international recognition and enhance the quality of scientific publishing.

For her part, Dr. Zhala Saeed Khattat, Director of the Research and Development Office at the Ministry, stated that the evaluation process covered 46 university journals, including 23 scientific journals and 23 journals in the humanities, as part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to advance research quality and strengthen academic publishing standards in the Kurdistan Region.
