On Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM, the first symposium on classical Kurdish literature, entitled "Nali is Khani's Guest in Duhok," was conducted. The gathering was attended by the University's Vice Presidents, Prof. Dr. Muayad Aghali Merza and Prof. Dr. Hoger Taher Tawfiq; Dean of the College of Languages, Prof. Dr. Ameen Abdulqadir Omar; and the Head of the Karim Alaka Foundation, Mr. Shakhawan Sadiq. Teachers, students, writers, and various media outlets were also in attendance.
The event was divided into two distinct sessions. During each session, researchers provided an in-depth exploration of three significant topics centered on classical Kurdish literature, specifically focusing on the "Kurmanji and Sorani" dialects.
