Nawroz University Explores Cooperation on Sustainable Development and Environmental Initiatives
Nawroz University held a meeting on Monday, 7 September 2026, chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mevan Arif Abdulrahman, President of Nawroz University, and attended by the Vice Presidents and a number of academic staff members, with representatives of the Agrarian Environment and Agriculture Organization, led by Dr. Laylan Al-Naqshbandi.
Held within the framework of the cooperation and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions, the meeting focused on areas related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly environmental protection, agriculture, and sustainability. The two sides also discussed joint activities and initiatives to promote environmental awareness and engage students and academics.
The President of Nawroz University emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships with specialized institutions and organizations and connecting education, scientific research, and community engagement with environmental and development issues, helping translate the principles of sustainable development into practical initiatives that benefit both the university and the wider community.
The meeting reflects Nawroz University’s commitment to activating its partnerships and strengthening its contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
