Nawroz University Students Participate in Intensive Cybersecurity Course

Two students from the College of Science at Nawroz University participated in the Intensive Cybersecurity Course, organised by the Cisco Academy at Duhok Polytechnic University. The course brought together 32 students and graduates from universities and institutes across Duhok Governorate.

Nawroz University was represented by Ari Tayib Kaifallah, a third-year student, and Esraa Azad Ali, a second-year student, under the supervision of Shang Halat Arif.

The course comprised 60 hours of theoretical and practical training, covering specialised topics and skills in cybersecurity. It aimed to enhance participants’ practical capabilities and strengthen their knowledge of modern technologies in the field, in line with the needs of both the public and private sectors.

The course concluded on 17 September 2026, in the presence of officials, supervisors, and trainers from Duhok Polytechnic University, with certificates awarded to participants upon completion of the programme.

On this occasion, the President of Nawroz University, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mevan Arif Abdulrahman, received the two students, accompanied by their supervisor, Shang Halat Arif, and commended their participation in the course. He emphasised the importance of such programmes in developing students’ skills and keeping pace with technological advancements and labour market requirements.
