Introduction
The IELTS Registration Centre, a newly established facility under British Council accreditation,
manages candidate registrations, provides comprehensive IELTS preparation courses for stu-
dents, staff, and the wider university and local community.

candidates with essential language skills and test strategies, supporting academic advancement
and professional development for university members, educators, international school communi-
ties, and individuals pursuing master’s and PhD studies.

The IELTS Registration Centre manages candidate registration processes, guiding prospective
test-takers through application procedures, fee structures, and documentation requirements in
accordance with British Council standards. It delivers comprehensive IELTS preparation courses
through online and in-centre formats, offering flexible learning options. The centre designs spe-
cialized training programs for university staff and students, while coordinating professional devel-
opment courses for teachers at international and private schools. Under the Centre Manager’s
supervision, staff provide individual consultation services and maintain quality assurance across
all operations. The centre handles reporting functions, including submitting registration statistics
to the British Council, tracking candidate performance, and preparing operational reports for uni-
versity administration. It manages secure candidate databases and payment processing, liaises
with university colleges to identify language training needs, develops course materials, monitors
student progress, and conducts promotional activities to ensure effective service delivery.
Achievements or Key Activities
Successfully launched operations and registered 20 IELTS candidates with full British Council
compliance. Opened two on-campus preparation courses with a third scheduled to begin soon.
Established dual-mode instruction offering both online and in-person learning. Initiated collab-
orative training programs with international and private schools, delivering specialized teacher
development courses. Created comprehensive curricula and launched promotional campaigns
reaching diverse audiences.
Future Goals
Plans to establish Dohuk’s first official IELTS examination centre, expand registration capacity to
serve 100+ candidates annually, develop advanced online learning platforms, establish regular
teacher training workshops, create specialized courses for different IELTS band levels, and be-
come the region’s premier IELTS service provider.
