History

The Department of Architecture Engineering was established in July 2013, concurrently with the founding of the College of Engineering at Nawroz University. The department welcomed its first cohort of students in the academic year 2013–2014, offering a comprehensive five-year program comprising 300 ECTS credits, leading to a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering. 

From its early days, the department has provided a modern yet contextually grounded architectural education, deeply rooted in the cultural and environmental fabric of the Kurdistan region. 

Over the years, it has evolved to address the growing demands of sustainable design, construction technologies, and the technical requirements of the local building industry, preparing graduates to meet the challenges of contemporary architectural practice.
