History

The Department of Software Engineering at Nawroz University was established in 2023 as a forward-thinking academic unit dedicated to modern technology education. 

In 2025, it was renamed the Department of Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence to reflect its expanded focus on integrating these two transformative fields. 

This integration creates a powerful foundation for modern technology, where software engineering provides the structured methods and engineering principles needed to design, build, and maintain reliable software systems, while artificial intelligence adds intelligent capabilities that enable machines to learn, reason, and make decisions. Together, these disciplines empower the creation of advanced applications such as intelligent software systems, autonomous solutions, smart data analysis tools, and innovative technologies that address real-world challenges across industries. 

Offering a four-year Bachelor’s program taught in English, the department admits graduates of the scientific branch from preparatory schools, equipping them with the skills to drive technological advancement.
